Removing/Replacing Metal Inserts

  1. Removing the Cover.
  2. Remove the front bezel.
  3. Hold the insert in place, while using a 1/4-inch nut driver to unscrew the screws that secure the insert to the system unit.
NOTE: If the system unit only has one drive in the 5.25-inch drive bay, the user will need to remove all the inserts and bend them at the perforation line until they snap apart.

Removing/Replacing a Drive in an External 5.25-Inch Drive Bay

  1. Remove the cover.
  2. Remove the front bezel.
  3. Remove the plastic inserts if needed.
  4. Remove the metal inserts if needed.
  5. Remove the power cable and the interface cable from the back of the drive.
  6. To remove the drive, squeeze the tabs on each side of the drive, and slide it forward and out of the drive bay.
NOTE: When sliding the new drive into its drive bay, make sure that both drive rail tabs snap into place. If they do not, adjust the position of each drive rail by loosening the screws and sliding the drive rail forward or backward as needed.

Removing/Replacing a Drive in an External 3.5-Inch Drive

  1. Remove the cover.
  2. Remove the front bezel.
  3. Remove the plastic inserts if needed.
  4. Remove the metal inserts if needed.
  5. Unscrew the 2 screws that secure the front of the 3.5-inch drive bracket to the system unit.
  6. Slide the 3.5-inch drive bracket toward the back of the system unit to disengage the six mounting tabs on the drive bracket from the slots at the top of the 3.5-inch drive bay.
  7. Unscrew the 2 screws on each side of the 3.5-inch drive bracket, and slide the drive out of the drive bracket

Removing/Replacing a Hard-Disk Drive

  1. Remove the cover.
  2. Disconnect any cables from the back of the drive.
  3. Remove the screw securing the drive assembly to the chassis, and raise the bracket away from the power supply.
NOTE: Lay the system on its side to remove the hard-disk drive.
  1. Remove the 2 screws on each side of the hard-disk drive bracket that secure the drive to the bracket.
  2. Slide the drive out of the bracket.

Removing/Replacing the Power Supply

  1. Remove the cover.
  2. Disconnect the DC power cables from the system board, from any drives, and from any expansion cards.
  3. Remove the front bezel.
  4. Remove the 2 screws that secure the power supply ground wire to the chassis, and remove the 2 screws that secure the power button assembly to the front bezel.
  5. Slide the retaining channel that secures the power switch cable to the bottom of the drive cage toward the back of the system unit.
  6. Remove the Hard-Disk Drive.
  7. Remove the drive-bracket mounting screw that secures the hard-disk drive bracket to the system unit's back panel, and raise the bracket away from the power supply.
  8. While holding the system power supply with one hand, remove the 4 screws that secure the power supply to the system unit's back panel, and lift the power supply out of the system unit.
NOTE: Lay the system on its side to remove the power supply, because holding the hard-disk drive bracket and removing the power supply at the same time can be difficult.

Removing/Replacing the Reset Button

  1. Remove the cover.
  2. Remove the front bezel.
  3. Disconnect the reset button cable from the reset button connector on the system board
  4. Thread the cable through the ferrite cylinder attached to the card guide.
