Removing the RTC Chip: Dell Dimension XPS 66/100 MDT II

To remove the RTC chip, follow these steps:

1. If possible, enter the System Setup program, and make a copy of the settings.
2. Note the orientation of the chip.
3. Pry it from its socket using a small flat-blade screwdriver.

To replace the RTC chip, follow these steps:

1. Install the chip in its socket.
2. Enter the System Setup program and reset the time and date and correct all other settings.
