Disabling a Forgotten Password: Dell Dimension XPS 50/66 FS

There is no provision to override a password.

If the password has been forgotten and the system cannot be accessed, it is necessary to clear the CMOS memory and then reconfigure the System Setup program.

  1. Turn off the system.
  2. Disconnect the BT CON connector (battery connector) on the system board.
  3. Wait 1 hour, then reconnect the BT CON connector.
  4. Start the computer, and press <Ctrl><Alt><Enter> to enter the System Setup program.
  5. Reset all user-selectable options.
