Configuring OMCC

Dell OpenManage™ Client Connector Version 2.1 User's Guide

To use Dell OpenManage™ Client Connector (OMCC), you must be logged on with administrative privileges to the remote system. If you do not have administrative privileges, then OMCC displays an appropriate error message.

To configure and fully use OMCC:

  • Enable NTLM authentication

  • Enable Trust Delegation

Enabling NTLM Authentication

The operator's system must have Windows NT® LAN Manager (NTLM) authentication enabled in Internet Explorer. To enable NTLM authentication, perform the following steps:

  1. Ensure that the operator's system is running Internet Explorer 6.0 or later.

Click Internet Explorer Help About Internet Explorer to check the version.

  1. Click Tools, select Internet Options, and click the Advanced tab.

  2. Scroll to the Security section and select Enable Integrated Windows Authentication (requires restart).

Enabling Trust Delegation

The system where OMCC is installed must have trust delegation enabled on the domain controller if the system is connected to a domain. To enable trust delegation, perform the following steps on the domain controller:

  1. Open the Active Directory Users and Computers control panel on the domain controller.

  2. Open the computers folder for the domain in question.

  3. Locate the OMCC system in the list and double-click it.

  4. In the panel that opens, check the box labeled Trust computer for delegation.
