- Drive is not recognized.

- Is the DVD+RW/+R & CD-RW drive connected properly?
Ensure that the drive module is inserted correctly into the computer. |
- Inserted disc is not recognized.
|
- If the disc is dirty (fingerprints, etc.), clean it.
- If the disc is scratched, do not insert it into the drive.
- If the disc is inserted upside down, re-insert the disc in the correct
position.
- If the drive is not recognized, refer to solution 1-1.

- Disc tray cannot be opened.
|
- Check that there is power to the DVD+RW/+R & CD-RW drive.
- Use Emergency Eject Instructions to open the tray.
- If the indicator does not light, refer to solution 1-1.

- Certain types of discs do not play.
|
- This drive only supports discs with the formats indicated in the "Introduction" and "Specifications" sections.
This Drive cannot read the data on discs of other formats. Check the disc's format.

- Cannot read or write discs.
|
- Is the condition of everything else in the system (CPU, hard disc, and others) as it should be?
- Does the CD-RW or DVD disc have dirt or scratches?
- Did a screen saver or other application operate while writing to the disc?
- Is there enough free space on the CD-RW or DVD disc?
- Does writing fail even when using the simulation test?
- Is the disc loaded in the drive with the read/write surface facing the right direction? (label up)
- Was the drive or disc moved from a low temperature environment to a high temperature environment? (There is a possibility of condensation on the lens in the drive or on the surface of the disc.)
