CAUTION: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see Removing the Battery) before working inside the computer.
CAUTION: When the 2-in-1 memory and processor board is removed from the computer, store it in protective antistatic packaging (see "Protecting Against Electrostatic Discharge" in the safety instructions that shipped with your computer).
Remove the four screws that secure the processor system board cover and
the 2-in-1 memory and processor board to the system board.

Remove the two thermal pads on the processor.
NOTE: The thermal pads may stick to the bottom of the processor system board cover. Remove the thermal pads from the bottom of the processor system board cover.
Use your fingertips to carefully spread apart the securing clips on either
side of 2-in-1 memory and processor board connector until the board pops
up.

Lift the 2-in-1 memory and processor board out of its system board
connector.
Replacing the 2-in-1 Memory and Processor
Board
Align the notch in the 2-in-1 memory and processor edge connector with
the tab in the connector slot.
Slide the 2-in-1 memory and processor board firmly into the slot at a 45-
degree angle, and gently press the 2-in-1 memory and processor board
down until it clicks into place. If you do not hear the click, remove the
board and reinstall it.
Replace the processor system board cover on the 2-in-1 memory and
processor board.
Replace the four screws that secure the processor system board cover and
the 2-in-1 memory and processor board to the system board.
CAUTION: Before turning on the computer, replace all screws and ensure that no stray screws remain inside the computer. Failure to do so may result in damage to the computer.
