CAUTION: Before performing the following procedures, read the safety instructions in your Owner's Manual.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by
periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.
Remove the three M2.5 x 5-mm screws labeled "circle P" from the top of the palm rest.
Remove the M2.5 x 5-mm screw labeled "M2.5x5" from the metal shield.

Turn over the computer and remove the 13 M2.5 x 8-mm screws.

Disconnect the touch pad connector from the system board.

NOTICE: Carefully separate the palm rest from the computer base to avoid damage to the palm rest.
Starting at the back center of the palm rest, use your fingers to separate the palm rest from
the computer base by gently lifting up the palm rest while pressing down on the back of the
computer base.
NOTE: When you reinstall the palm rest, attach the right side of the palm rest first.
