NOTICE: The key caps on
the keyboard are fragile, easily dislodged, and time-consuming to replace.
Exercise care when removing and handling the keyboard.
Insert a plastic scribe into the indent along the right edge of
the hinge cover, and then carefully pry the hinge cover loose.
Use your fingers to
carefully pry the hinge cover off from right to left, and then remove it from
the computer.
Remove the two screws at the top of the keyboard.
Slide the keyboard cable out of the keyboard connector.
Release the latch on the system board connector.
Disconnect the keyboard cable.
Remove the keyboard.
Replacing the Keyboard
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.
NOTICE: The key caps on the keyboard are fragile, easily dislodged, and time-consuming to replace. Exercise care when removing and handling the keyboard.
Slide the keyboard cable into the keyboard connector.
Rotate the keyboard connector latch downward to secure the cable.
Hook the tabs along the front edge of the keyboard beneath the front-
inside edge of the palmrest.
Press on the right edge near the top to snap the keyboard into place.
Replace the two M2.5 x 5-mm screws at the top of the keyboard.
